I am from Sumter County, Florida, about 50 miles north of Orlando and 50 miles east of Tampa. My career has focused on creating quality educational experiences for college students.
My own education was completed at the University of Central Florida, where I earned a Master of Arts in Instructional Technology with a specialization in eLearning. I have specialized training in quality assurance for online courses, including Peer Reviewer Certification from Quality Matters.
I have spent the past 5 years creating courses in a variety of learning management systems, most notably Blackboard Learn 9.1. With Blackboard, I have created many award-winning courses, earning trophies for instructional design for two courses, and Quality Matters recognition for five courses.
Research is paramount in the instructional design industry. At this time, my research is focused on ADA compliance and universal design for online courses to meet the needs of all learners--even those with disabilities. Other topics I am researching include design for mobile devices, digital testing, and enhanced navigation techniques to ensure learner success.
Instructional design is my passion. I am actively looking for opportunities that will challenge me as a designer and give me the chance to improve the learning experience for all students who attend my courses.
